One year of building instead of scrolling
Day 01 took two days to ship, which tells me exactly why this project needs to exist.
I start this project with a lie. The idea is one project per day, but this website took a couple of days to build. Not because it was impossible to do in one day, but because I kept saying "I can't launch it right now" and "let me improve it tomorrow." Even though I know a website is never final. It is always changing. That is the trap I keep falling into. Perfectionism dressed up as quality. Build something, tweak it forever, then launch it to silence because nobody was waiting for it in the first place.
The bigger struggle is my brain. I have been doom scrolling and watching Kick streamers for too long. Today I tried to only listen to Spotify while working. I ended up with streams running in the background and YouTube on the side. My focus score is 4 out of 10 and that feels generous. I have also been sick with a cold for the past couple of days, which does not help.
I am close to my peak bodyweight of 94kg. I have never weighed more, so I am trying to get through the day on 2000 kcal. Today's drink was a Lando Norris Monster. Zero sugar, which sounds healthy enough. Is it good? Hard to say - it is way too sweet and who knows what is actually in it. But it cost 1.04 eur, so by monkey brain logic it is a great drink. I walked my dog 3km but that was the only exercise I got. No real workout because I feel like shit.
I used to think I could build anything. Ten years ago I felt on top of the game. Now I feel like someone who is lazy and loves beer too much. Both of those things are true. But I also think they are changeable. That is why this project exists. I have too many ideas and not enough finished things. I need to learn how to sit down for a couple of hours, push, and actually execute. Then move on to the next thing.
The gym analogy is what got me. You think about going to the gym for a year, and then a year passes and you realize you could have already been going for a year. I do not want to think about building for another year. I want to look at this website in twelve months and see 365 attempts. Some will be bad. Some might turn into something real. Maybe even something sellable. Who knows.
I am not sharing this with anyone I know personally. Only TikTok. If nobody reads it, that is fine. The public URL is a trick for my own brain. It creates just enough accountability to make me show up tomorrow. As for money, I will share the tools I use. Some will have affiliate links. Maybe some coins come in, maybe not. If I somehow become an influencer in 150 days, that would be great. If not, I will still have 150 days of building daily. That alone rewires your brain for the better.
Tomorrow I build something small and I ship it. It does not matter what it is. The point is finishing. I will sit down for a couple of hours with no streams in the background and I will execute. Then I will write about it here and move on to the next thing. One project. Done. Next.
